But Burkina Faso forward Traore broke the deadlock five minutes before half-time in slightly fortuitous fashion as a prodded effort from Willian's cross ricocheted back into him off goalkeeper Alexander Kofler and into the net.

Batshuayi - who was not initially named on the bench before he was introduced - then entered the fray and the Belgium international skilfully rounded goalkeeper Christian Dobnik on the end of Willian's pass but Moses' resulting effort was cleared off the line.

Six minutes from time, Loftus-Cheek made sure of the victory when he got in front of Dobnik to nod in from Moses' corner and Chalobah made his mark by powering into space and unleashing a clinical low finish in stoppage time.

Chelsea continue their pre-season preparations in the International Champions Cup next week, where they face Premier League counterparts Liverpool in Pasadena.
